What are MARTA's Goals and Purposes?
MARTA serves the interests of its members by identifying issues of statewide significance in public transportation and advocating positive courses of action. It provides a statewide forum for the exchange of information and experience, educates executive branch policy makers, lawmakers and strategic partners on the issues, and aids its members with general and specific concerns.
MARTA works aggressively to positively influence statewide public transportation policy. It is committed to securing on-going and equitable financial support for RTAs on which more than 100,000 citizens rely every day for their personal mobility.

What is MARTA's role in the MArtap Program?
Under contract to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Transportation and Construction, MARTA develops and manages MArtap, the Massachusetts Rural Transit Assistance Program. MArtap offers direct training and scholarship assistance to rural and urban service providers. It also publishes the monthly RESOURCE newsletter and hosts a popular and useful Internet web site: www.martap.org. An active advisory committee of MARTA members and other beneficiaries oversees the program.
What is meant by "MARTA Means Business"?
MARTA provides Associate Member companies that supply public transportation products and services with regular opportunities to meet policy-makers and potential customers. Associate Members also have occasion to showcase their services and wares at the MARTA Annual Meeting each spring. They can also help shape MARTA policy and programs through representation on key committees and the Board of Directors.
